The town of Chepstow is perhaps most famous for its castle, but also offers a wide variety of shops and eating/drinking establishments. Just up the Wye Valley is the village of Tintern, a popular tourist spot set in dense woodland with many tempting walks to be had. The wonders of the Royal Forest of Dean are also but a short drive away on the A48 towards Gloucester. Right on the doorstep are two well known institutions – Saint Pierre Golf Course & Country Club and Chepstow Racecourse. So why not combine your visit with a round of golf or a day at the races?
